ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Pikitup is recruiting 400 General Workers to support essential cleaning and refuse management services across Johannesburg. This opportunity is suitable for physically fit jobseekers who are ready to work and earn a steady monthly income.

HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS
Successful applicants will be:

Placed at designated Pikitup depots within Johannesburg
-
Reporting to a Team Leader / Supervisor
-
Assigned daily duties in line with operational and safety procedures
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Street cleaning, sweeping, and litter picking
-
Cleaning refuse bins and public areas
-
Collecting, stacking, and placing refuse bags for removal
-
Assisting with refuse bin delivery and replacement
-
Loading and offloading refuse bags and bins
-
Reporting safety incidents, injuries, or faulty equipment
-
Wearing protective clothing at all times
-
Performing additional tasks as instructed by supervisors
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Minimum education: Grade 10
-
Experience: At least 12 months cleaning or general work experience
-
Citizenship: South African citizen
-
Criminal record: No criminal record
-
Fitness: Physically and mentally fit
-
Residence: Must reside within the City of Johannesburg
(Proof of address required)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
-
Basic knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment
-
Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
-
Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
TRAINING & PLACEMENT
Placement will be at various operational depots across Johannesburg, depending on operational requirements.
