JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Our client is urgently looking for the qualified Safety Officer to start working ASAP. Servest Security requires the services of reputable Safety Officer. You may apply before deadline in case you are interested and have required qualifications as short-listed below.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;

• Must have passed Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent
• Must have health and Safety Qualification or relevant (A must)
• Must have Samtrac or NOSA certificates
• Must have 3-5 years experience as a Safety Officer in the Mining industry
• Must have experience and knowledge of the MHSA, OHS act, audit and Incident Investigation
• Must have a PSIRA Grade A certificate

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:  

The applicant must have the following skills and competences

• Must have no criminal record or any pending cases
• Must be medically Fit
• Must have valid Driver’s License with own reliable transport
• Must reside in Secunda or surrounding areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:

• To conduct weekly checks and updates on all site safety files
• To audit safety files for Servest subcontractor’s monthly
• To attend safety meetings
• To upload all meeting minutes and investigations to the SHEQ X platform
• To visit posts regularly and conduct PTO on Servest members to ensure compliance with the client safety standards
• To attend monthly SHE meetings with Servest SHE representatives and keep the minutes on fi le for audit purposes
• To respond to safety incidents, investigate them, and submit preliminary reports until the investigation is finalized
• To work closely with the Contract Manager and the Accounts Operations Executive – Mining.
