About the Role
As an Assistant Store Manager at Sportscene, you will support the Store Manager in driving store performance, leading the sales team, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will be actively involved in sales growth, staff development, stock management, and visual merchandising while ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Sales and Performance Management

Drive sales initiatives to achieve and exceed store turnover targets

Analyse sales trends and customer behaviour to maximise revenue

Support short- and long-term sales planning strategies

Implement promotions and campaigns to boost store performance
Financial and Operational Control

Assist in managing store expenses and maintaining budget control

Monitor stock losses and ensure shrinkage remains within company standards

Maintain accurate operational and sales reports
People Management and Leadership

Recruit, train, coach, and develop store staff

Conduct performance reviews and manage underperformance professionally

Motivate and inspire the team to achieve individual and store targets

Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance store culture
Stock and Visual Merchandising

Ensure effective stock control, organisation, and replenishment

Implement visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail or administration

Retail management experience will be an advantage

Experience in fashion, footwear, or lifestyle retail is beneficial
